Mildred hugged the stack of freshly printed newspapers close to her chest, still warm to the touch.

“Hot off the press!” she bellowed, fanning today’s issue in front of all who passed by.

Mildred flipped open her folded issue and, once again, scanned the headlines.

So sensational! She couldn’t believe it.

The ink smudged slightly as she ran her fingers over the line of press, again.

The real news?

Mildred had earned her first byline.

One of many trails to be blazed.

Her future burned bright.
