Showing the Hawkeye Love in Phoenix

Last week, several Hawkeyes headed to “the valley of the sun” for a fun and fact-filled outreach event in Phoenix, Arizona. Not only did they show their Iowa love during a few rounds of golf at Topgolf Scottsdale, but they also gathered for a happy-hour game watch and a presidential reception. In addition, they learned how the Iowa Neuroscience Institute is positioning Iowa to be a leader in brain science and explored the power of big data on campus.

A select group of attendees also received an exclusive, behind-the-scenes tour—led by Scott Reifert (88BA), vice president of communications for the Chicago White Sox—of the clubhouse at the team’s Camelback Ranch spring training home. Afterward, they attended a spring training game in which the White Sox went up against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
